Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said everyone should be outraged by George Floyd’s death in Minnesota, but rioting and looting are "never justified."

Rubio, in a Friday morning tweet, wrote: “Three things are true Everyone should be outraged by Mr. Floyd’s death. It merits a thorough investigation & appropriate accountability. The anger isn’t just about Mr. Floyd. It’s also about years of unaddressed injustice. Riots & looting are self-defeating & never justified.”

Three days of violent protests have erupted over the death of Floyd, a handcuffed black man who pleaded for air as a white police officer held him down by putting a knee on his neck.

Cheering protesters set a Minneapolis police station on fire as demonstrations flared across the U.S. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has blasted the “total lack of leadership” in Minneapolis.
