A Texas high school sparked a furor by saving students questionnaires asking if and why their families owned guns and about the political affiliations of their parents,

The Hawk 2015 Gun Survey was handed out to 100 students in a journalism class at Hendrickson High in Pflugerville, a suburb of Austin, in a bid to start a conversation about the Second Amendment.
It did — but not the way the school expected.
Parents and Second Amendment scholars quickly called the questionnaire invasive of student's rights.
Talk-show host Michael Cargill, who first reported on the questionnaire on his radio program, told
InfoWars.com:
"[The Second Amendment] is a great conversation for kids to have in the classroom and definitely for journalism because it applies directly to our Constitution.
"But the questions that concern me are the ones that ask 'how many firearms does your parents have at home?' and 'what political affiliations do your parents have?' That's private."
The Daily Caller quoted one parent as saying the school principal "was very concerned about some of the questions that were in it."
