Actor Tom Hanks must have figured White House reporters needed an extra jolt.
Jordan Fabian of The Hill reports the Academy Award-winning actor sent the press corps a new espresso machine, along with a note and illustration of American troops.
Hanks had previously purchased two coffee makers for the press, according to the Hill. And The Hollywood Reporter noted the first one came in 2004 after Hanks discovered journalists had been drinking vending machine coffee.
"I hope this machine will make the 24-hour cycle of news a bit more pleasant," he said at the time.
