President Donald Trump waited to disclose the results of his positive COVID-19 rapid test Thursday until doctors completed a more reliable screening, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Trump during an appearance on Fox News Thursday night said aide Hope Hicks tested positive and mentioned that he was waiting results from a test he had taken, telling host Sean Hannity: "I just went out with the test, I'll see, 'cause, you know, we spend a lot of time — and the first lady just went out with a test also. So whether we quarantine, or whether we have it, I don't know," he said.
Three hours later he tweeted that he and First Lady Melania Trump had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Trump also asked an adviser not to make public that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
“Don’t tell anyone,” he said, according to a source who spoke with the Journal.
