Sixty-seven percent of Americans disapprove of the way President Donald Trump is handling the response to the coronavirus pandemic, compared to 33% who approve, according to an ABC News/Ipsos poll.
Here are highlights from the poll results released on Friday:
- 59% say the U.S. is reopening the economy too quickly, while 15% say it is reopening too slowly. 26% say it is reopening at the right pace.
- 67% disapprove of the way Trump is handling race relations, compared to 32% who approve.
- 43% say they have a negative reaction when they see the Confederate flag displayed, while 5% say they have a positive reaction. 52% say they don’t have any reaction.
The poll, conducted July 8-9, surveyed 711 people. The margin of error is plus or minus 4.1 percentage points.
