No members of the White House Coronavirus Task Force are scheduled to attend President Donald Trump's virus briefing Tuesday night, according to a new report.
CNN noted that the lineup for Tuesday's press conference, which will be the first White House COVID-19 briefing in months, has yet to be finalized. As of now, none of the task force members are slated to be there.
Two high-profile members of the task force, Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx, have not been informed whether or not they'll be there. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams is also unsure.
"They are still figuring that out," Adams told CBS Tuesday morning.
"I know that as [the briefings] resume, we will be there in our different roles. As folks know, I'm a strong advocate for making sure we are promoting the awareness of the impact [of COVID-19] on communities of color, particularly African Americans and particularly Hispanics."
CNN reported that White House aides are still undecided about whether Trump, who ended the regular virus briefings in April after he continually sparred with members of the White House press corps and even asked whether people could drink chemical disinfectants to help kill the virus, should even attend.
Among the ideas that have been discussed is holding the briefings in a place other than the White House, such as a health agency. Tuesday's briefing, scheduled for 5 p.m., will take place in the White House briefing room.
