Comedian Will Ferrell put out a call to basketball star LeBron James on Wednesday, telling him to run for president.
During an appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," Ferrell related a story about talking to James.
"I was just telling my wife the other night that you need to run for president. You're from the Midwest, you're very famous, you're very popular, and you're very articulate, please run for office," Ferrell said he told James.
Then the actor then looked into one of the cameras and directed a message to the NBA star: "LeBron, I'm telling you now. We need you. And I would love some of your shoes."
James has been critical of President Donald Trump. In September, the basketball star said, "The people run this country. Not one individual — and damn sure not him," James said in September.
