An anonymous woman claiming that she's seven weeks pregnant says she won't have an abortion if pro-lifers give her $1 million.
"I am a twenty-six-year-old female and I am currently 7 weeks pregnant. I have every intention of having an abortion, but I'm giving you a chance to stop it," she writes on
ProlifeAntiwoman.com.
The woman says that she is putting pro-lifers to the test, and that she hopes "to give the American public a concrete example that the conservative right in America doesn't actually care about the life of a child, they care about controlling the lives and choices of women."
She claims that she plans to have an abortion on July 10, and that she will start accepting donations on July 7.
The woman says that she is currently attending graduate school in a state "that very recently passed extremely restrictive abortion laws" that requires she wait 72 hours after having a consultation with a doctor before having an abortion.
According to
Inquisitr.com, that would limit the states to Missouri, North Carolina, South Dakota and Utah.
The woman's identity is not revealed and she says that she plans to keep it that way. However, she said that she doesn't plan to keep the money.
If she is able to raise $1 million, she will have the baby, put it up for adoption, and put the money in a trust fund, which will be given to the child when he or she turns 21. If the $1 million is not reached, then she will return the money.
There is no way to prove who the woman is or that she actually exists.
Several people on Twitter have responded to her pitch:
One woman questioned how trustworthy the woman could be before asking if she could adopt the child:
