President Biden assured Scott Pelle on CBS's "60 Minutes" that Iran was not behind the Oct. 7 (and subsequent) barbaric attacks on Israeli civilians.
Really?
So, Hamas would act alone, risking all the funding, training, and weapons that NSC Spokesman John Kirby claims Iran provides the terror organization?
Or is it possible that the resurrected policies of the Obama administration to appease Iran with billions fueled a proxy war of terror against Israel, where the potential for escalation to World War III is very real?
How embarrassing if you are one of the key quislings of the let’s-work-with-Tehran academics and failed policy wonks.
If Hezbollah and Syria enter the war and attack from the North, will Iran continue to get a pass from D.C. even though they are threatening war with Israel in their official statements?
The swamp has a history of pushing the truth to the side before it charts a course of action.
Here is another whopper. It’s relationship to the Iran lie is becoming soberingly clear.
"The border is secure," Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas angrily claimed at his April 19 appearance, to testify on Capitol Hill.
That’s a curious statement even by D.C. "theater-of the-absurd-swamp" standards.
The DHS indicts the secretary all by itself in publishing the statistics that over 7.5 million have illegally entered on our southern border.
At least those are the ones they know about.
The testimony of falsehoods persisted in the GOP-led examination.
Impeachment? No. Referral to a federal judge? No.
Cameras turned off, fade to black, off to the Capitol Grill for drinks.
Surely there are consequences when our leaders lie to themselves and We the People, as strategies and policies are crafted.
Need more examples?
While Americans at home worry about financial collapse and global war, Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., repeatedly tells us that "we have no higher priority than Ukraine."
John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council, had a different view from the White House affirming to Fox’s Martha McCallum that climate change was our top existential threat.
Outside the swamp, here in the rest of the nation, we would be laughing if these lies weren’t making life so darn perilous.
And we know better.
John C. Maxwell once said, "In evaluating any problem, the first step must always be an honest assessment. Only then can we find the integrity to craft a solution that stands the test of time."
Returning to the first two delusions; Iran didn’t do it and the border is secure, are we at risk here at home as a result?
Most Americans believe that wars are things that happen overseas not here in our homeland. Are we about to be reminded that no such rule exists?
With millions of undocumented, fighting age men from all nationalities and groups living among us, will we deceive ourselves into believing a Oct. 7, Hamas-style attack couldn’t happen across our nation?
Director Wray, whose FBI keeps us safe daily from soccer Moms and MAGA extremists has started to notice that maybe, just maybe, the Hamas attack on Israel could lead to consequences here, saying "domestic threats have surged as conflict in Israel escalates."
His remarks were made at the International Association of Police Chiefs conference in San Diego. Not via a national warning.
Not via emergency congressional testimony.
Not via a National Security Team press conference.
Nothing to see here, but at least he has a record of something said at a conference so he can safely say later, he knew it was a problem.
The “swampers” are great at retaining the ability to pivot.
These people.
Brass tacks: We the People don’t need security clearances or invites to heady think tank sessions to see the truth.
Let’s cover a few essentials:
- The national security team is a collective failure.
- Projected American weakness has encouraged wars and potential wars globally.
- Iran appeasement has failed.
- Iran is using proxies to wage war against Israel.
- Our border is not secure.
- There are millions of undocumented potential aggressors in our nation.
- We are at risk of mass scale attacks on our soil.
- Our national leaders play loose with the truth; prefer to maintain “narratives” instead.
Not the ideal posture if a global war is just around the corner.
We must take care of ourselves and our communities.
We can’t fix the swamp, at least not this year.
We can pull together at the local level and get a better understanding of potential threats.

The important effort now is to honestly assess the threats we face here and act locally in concert with our community and its leaders.
Today’s headlines affirm concerns that we could soon be fighting for the survival of our republic.
The path to solutions that preserve our way of life starts with unrelenting and sobering honesty. But don’t look for it from this administration.
Seek it out among those fighting to return our government to its founding principles; those seeking to wholly drain the D.C. swamp.
