Election Security Is National Security
"A good day for democracy," President Biden affirmed to the nation in his post-election remarks. Afterall, the ultimate arbiter of the citizens satisfaction is the actual election rather than those pesky polls, consistently portraying a complete lack of confidence in government.
But that was not the case.
It was the night of the incumbent as Americans emerged from the ballot box, confirming their resounding joy with inflation, energy and food shortages, open borders, war and the threat of world war, climate totalitarianism and a continued erosion of civil liberties.
Who knew?
It makes sense when looking back at the last midterms when the economy was booming, and peace was trending up in the world.
The nation wouldn’t stand for that, flipping the Congress back to the Democrats because impeachment season 1: "A Phone Call to Kiev," and season 2: "The Harrowing Insurrection," would be so much more enjoyable than paying mortgages and feeding our families.
Will future U.S. history books refer to that era as the "Mean Tweet" period?
Election integrity? Don’t let that be a passing thought. We were threatened, oops, guided last week by administration officials that any disbeliefs of results would only be held by those who are a "threat to our democracy."
Friendly advice: don’t be a threat to democracy even if you live in a constitutional republic. How could anyone raise an eyebrow with a system of scant ID verification, mail-in ballots, ballot harvesting, unmonitored ballot boxes, and other election logistical issues.
Let’s be honest.
If our elections weren’t a free-for-all, how on earth would any incumbent get elected?
It takes hundreds of millions of dollars for those candidates to keep resecuring their $167,000 per year salaries in Congress.
You couldn’t possibly expect lobbyists, corporations, and freedom-hating billionaires to keep footing the bills, if We the People actually elected our representatives.
Don’t be selfish. These special folks work hard to undermine your prosperity and security.
So here we are. Carbon and gender reassignment are big deals.
Inflation and border security are little deals.
Statistically speaking, we just affirmed as much. The rubes do not need to worry about any issues here because John King at CNN said so. "Stay off social media" he said; "if they want to know if there are really issues with voting," King proclaimed Americans should "trust your local officials, trust us here, trust a news source that you know and trust to be honest about this."
Case closed.
Perhaps we have reached a very visible intersection.
It's reasonable to expect that when looking at the state of the union and the endless polls confirming our displeasure, that incumbents would have received pink slips on both sides.
Don’t tell the administration but it just might be that quite a few of us are concerned about fair and secure elections. Shouldn’t the most free and most powerful nation have the best election systems on the planet?
Blockchain technology is now adapted for voting and is ready to provide iron clad election integrity in a zero-trust environment.
Why wouldn’t we want election security?
Maybe we stupidly reelected this unimpressive bunch.
If the backdrop wasn’t filled with broken tabulators, blocked election monitors, and mysterious ballots from nowhere, then at least we could blame ourselves.
How enticing our mess must be to foreign adversaries or transnational, unelected groups who would, shall we say, put a thumb on the scale.
Three days after election day, and the nation is still waiting on a final tally.
Will we rename Election Day as Election Week?
Oh yes, I forgot the mandated answer . . . voter suppression.
The Bottomline
We have a problem.
History teaches us that when our leaders take us to the precipice, our response is to "throw the bums out." Not so this time.
We have sent them back to D.C. because we love watching our 401ks being vaporized and our kids being taught that America is bad, and God had their sex wrong.
If that makes no sense at all, relax, you’re among friends. We the People are thinking, quietly thinking, the same thing.
The time is now to fix this most critical facet of our republic: self-governance.
Election security is national security.
