Have We Forgotten What National Security Is?

We're in real trouble.

This statement, devoid of hyperbole, would probably find broad consensus among Americans today, despite our widening political divisions.

From the first signs of COVID-19, to looking down at the barrel of World War III, and all the perils in-between, our nation sits teetering, on the edge of a precipice.

How could the world’s most prosperous, and powerful nation fall so fast; now vulnerable domestically and globally?

We have forgotten what national security is, better stated, our leaders have.

Government Does Not Have a Higher Priority

Every politician and military leader who swore an oath should reacquaint themselves with the contract they pledged to uphold:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence." (Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution)

Have They Honored the Grand Commitment?

Most Americans associate our nation’s security with our military.

A concept that makes sense when we examine the history of warfare and the heroic service of American veterans who answered the call to keep us secure, and free.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned us of the military industrial complex in 1961, gravely cautioning that, unchecked, it would become a behemoth.

Today the warning is evident as each federal agency and unelected bureaucrat has grown siloed, industrial-like complexes, and now looms, lording over us, as an ominous leviathan over the resources of "We the People."

Debt, spending, an unsecured border, rising energy costs, and irresponsible management of natural resources all contribute to our nation's current state of vulnerability.

These things are direct threats to both U.S. sovereignty and national security.

America’s open border is dangerous for every American.

Illegals, human trafficking, terror cells, and deadly fentanyl are pouring into the country unchecked.

DHS and the so-called border czar only muster enough interest to make it through congressional inquiries. What do we hear from the Pentagon? Crickets.

And while the national security adviser (fascinating job title) looks the other way, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has established an operational police station in New York City.

You can read that Newsmax story here.

Food Is National Security

Since the Great Depression, we have taken our abundance of food for granted.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) disciples have launched a campaign to end fertilizer, corporatize farming and steer us away from meat.

Are insects really that tasty?!

Billionaire Bill Gates has invested heavily in synthetic meat. Gates, one of the world’s richest men supports policies that would require healthy people to eat synthetic meat.

You Can't Make This Up

Elites have told you what toilets and lightbulbs you can use, now they want to dictate your food choices.

The Chinese seem to be the only ones taking food shortages seriously — they’re buying acreage all over America, including 192,000 acres of beautiful land, to grow food for their people.

Would Xi Jinping permit you to buy so much as a crumbling condo on mainland China?

Never.

Did you know that more than 100 food processing facilities have been destroyed in the past two years? Again, the response from the mainstream media —  crickets.

A good friend of this writer, a former Los Angeles Sheriff's deputy (a detective) once explained to me, "There are no coincidences in law enforcement — just evidence."

Did the Department of Justice (DOJ) find the significant numbers of food processing plant "accidents" curious? Zero investigations.

Climate Alarmist Cultists Understand That Energy also Comprises National Security

They privately cheer as the average American wage-earner gets crushed under rising gas and energy prices. Killing the Keystone XL pipeline, locking up leases, discouraging investment and selling our strategic reserves to the CCP imperils us — daily.

Energy is not just about your car being able to go to work, school, or soccer practice.

Our abundance of oil and gas provides us with the ability to move freely around the country. It also affords us great leverage, diplomatically, to head off wars.

Let's "circle back" (that's for you Jen Psaki) to food. If we are down to 19 days of commercial diesel stocks does anyone know how Costco gets restocked?

Anyone?

Diplomacy Is National Security

During the last two years, there has been a deafening silence in statesmanship and strategy in D.C. The current national security team jumps from failure to failure like a black-and-white, "Keystone Cops" film, or other Mack Sennett comedies.

Whether we like it or not, America’s frailty and diplomatic weakness are now on full display, seen through the largest of picture windows.

By turning on allies and partners, not deterring wars, provoking adversaries, not leading forums to seek peaceful outcomes, and by undermining our economic and energy underpinnings, our security here at home becomes little more than a flimsy illusion.

Warning signs?

Friends and allies turn on us (Saudi Arabia), proposals to divest the dollar, and the alarming normalization of nuclear war and World War III language.

The Social Contract Between Government and Its People Is Broken

Our government is in clear breach of contract, specifically with regard to Article 4, Section 4 of our sacred Constitution.

Our states are not protected against the invasions before us, nor the ones further out on the horizon. The Constitution provides the states the authority to step up against this breach through the sovereignty expressed in the 10th Amendment.

Remember: Voting Also Comprises Our National Security

Every one of you reading this has an opportunity to elevate your voice through your vote on Election Day. Principled leaders are in short supply — and it is time to raise them up within our communities, states, and nationally.

Our votes matter — Let us use one of our remaining powers wisely.
