"Big brother is watching you." Perhaps the only edit for George Orwell made in that chilling statement is that today it is "Big sister is watching you."
Orwell’s final work, "1984" chillingly foreshadowed a dystopian world where totalitarian rule, repression and domination of the citizenry was the accepted norm.
Orwell revealed language, tone, and repetition of government-approved messages amplified by a complicit media can bring society into full submission. Did globalists and Washington elites use "1984" as a manual or was George Orwell a prophet?
Orwell’s "Ministry of Truth," has now been realized by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas as the "Disinformation Governance Board."
During the congressional committee hearing where this was revealed, the new minister of truth was announced.
Nina Jankowicz, an "eminently qualified" and a "renowned expert" fawned Mayorkas.
Thank goodness that Twitter (soon to be acquired by Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk) provided much-needed comedy relief in the self-aggrandizing music videos and eerie diatribes by minister Jankowicz.
Americans learned of her warning of disinformation "hucksters" through her Mary Poppins sing-along on twitter. A quick reminder that Ms. Jankowicz is the same truth specialist who said the Hunter Biden laptop was a Russian disinformation campaign and that Trump would embolden ISIS.
Does she believe that a spoonful of sugar will help this bad medicine go down?
If neutrality for this counter-constitution post was Mayorkas’ standard, then certainly Jankowicz disqualified herself in October last year during a speech, in which she said parents who pushed back on Critical Race Theory (CRT) being taught in schools were "disinformers."
"We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it," Orwell writes in "1984."
At this point in time, its perhaps most appropriate to ask, "Liberty anyone?"
Orwell cautioned us about the immutable truths of big government. America's Founders knew the same: "government even in its best state is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one" implored Thomas Paine in his famous "Common Sense," a commodity today that seems to be in short supply in our contemporary age.
In 2022 Mayorkas' "Ministry of Truth" only appears as a new usurpation of First Amendment freedom.
The control of federal agencies, the judiciary, the military, education, and the media have emboldened the extremist element within the darkest corners of Washington’s globalists and political establishment to move quickly.
Socialism and the aspiration of complete federal control over every aspect of citizens lives has been a slow creep for more than 75 years.
Following a session of the Constitutional Convention, in 1787, Benjamin Franklin was reportedly asked what sort of government was proposed. Franklin is said to have replied, "A republic if you can keep it."
The emphasis should still be on you (and I).
Censorship, doxing, canceling, silencing, all the tactics from the left can only work if we the people allow them to.
We have a limited opportunity to fight back against the unholy trinity of government bureaucrats, the media and Washington elites. What will be the breaking point? If we believe that our rights come from our creator, not these apparatchiks, when will We the People say, "Enough"?
Orwell’s protagonist, Winston Smith, was eventually identified as a threat to state for spreading disinformation. His interrogator increased the torture until Winston would confess that two plus two equals five, not four. Winston’s definition of freedom was simply distilled down to the following:
“Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.”
Ms. Jankowicz, America’s new free-speech interrogator revealed to British lawmakers in 2021 that she supported the idea of speech standards on platforms that would include fines. She also conceded that free speech platforms might be a problem and mocked them as "freedom of expression and fairy dust."
If Orwell was a prophet, then our next stop is total compliance.
And the submission will not stop with four plus four equals five, but the brainwashing of our children to believe anything, such as biological males will have menstrual cycles and give birth. The "Ministry of Truth," as well as the left’s disinformation campaign against our culture, institutions and Constitution will only be ratcheted up as we approach the November 2022 midterm elections.
There is only one way to stop the destruction of our culture and values — and we have the power to do so. We have always had that power to restore liberty. Will this be an historic opportunity to prove Orwell’s prediction was just the fictional stuff of a novel?
If we believe that the Constitution empowers each of us to positively and peacefully do what we can within our spheres of influence, we can and will end the assault on our freedoms, our fun, our families, and our values, and definitively put America back on the path to liberty, justice, and prosperity.
