A recent New York Post Page Six cartoon summed up why Donald Trump lags in the polls. The cartoon featured the major networks with their logos — and reveals what those letters really stand for, such as CBS (Clinton Broadcasting System; CNN (Clinton News Network); NBC (Nobody But Clinton) — you get the picture.
I disagree with Donald — this election isn’t rigged, it’s just biased!
It’s biased in favor of the Democrats and their candidates, backed as they are with an out-of-control media. You have to admit that no one in the major press is sending undercover cameras to interview Hillary Clinton’s personal doctor, as NBC News recently did with Trump’s doctor in its “exclusive” report a few weeks ago.
Meanwhile, Hillary has real health issues that the public has every right to know about. And the media can’t be bothered looking into the background of Hillary staffers and supporters — like they are Trump’s.
For example, Trump’s new campaign CEO, Steve Bannon is the most recent media target. The media has dredged up divorce records from 20 years ago.
We all know divorce claims are hearsay — and often lacking in any truth whatsoever. Bannon’s real “sin” is that he’s an unapologetic conservative who is backing Trump.
Examples of media bias against Trump and his supporters are legion — something we are covering on Newsmax.com and Newsmax TV. Still, it’s no excuse for ceding this election to Hillary.
Every election is biased against the Republican. Every single one.
Despite the unfavorable terrain, you will recall the GOP scored victories with Reagan in 1980 and 1984, elder Bush in 1988 and "W." in 2000 and 2004.
The Republicans won every time when they offered a positive, unifying message to the American people. Remember Reagan’s “Make America Great Again” and “It’s Morning Again in America” slogans? Or Bush’s “Compassionate Conservative”?
I believe Trump won the GOP nomination by articulating better than any of the candidates three major issues: jobs, trade and national security.
In the debates especially, Trump focused on the problems of jobs (linked to immigration), trade deals (linked to jobs) and our dangerous security situation at home and abroad (linked to the porous border issue).
Trump with this powerful three-pronged message still holds the high-ground with the American people. Trump can win, but he needs to refocus on the three pillars that gave him the GOP nod in the first place: jobs, trade and security.
At the same time, he needs to refine how the public perceives him — and project the same positive “success” image that made him a super star in the first place.
