Biden, Big Nuke Companies Place Target on Fossil Fuels

nuclear payoffs or malfeasance

Like many big businesses in America, the nuclear power business in America is rife with malfeasance. They have already been nailed in bribery attempts with the Illinois and Ohiostate legislatures. Are we going to read about more nuclear corruption?

Currently, public officials and nuclear company executives who were involved in these bribes are in prison.

Should we be surprised?

As a result, nuclear power in America does not hold an exalted position.

Ever since the Three Mile Island accident in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1979 and the more recent Chernobyl disaster in the old Soviet Union in 1986, people have been rightly concerned about the safety of nuclear power.

Big Nuke powers like Constellation and First Energy have received billions of dollars in subsides for the Biden administration through the so-called Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which has done nothing to reduce inflation. Only someone completely clueless would think to reduce inflation you need to spend more money.

But in a desperate attempt to take the focus off their many problems, Big Nuke is ridiculously trying to smear oil and gas — which the world has relied on for years and have lifted up our society — while also funding a lot of woke causes to make themselves more palatable to the left-wing powers that be.

A recent report from the Foundation for Government Accountability explains the real risks of the nuclear industry adopting "woke" Environment, Sustainability and Governance (ESG).

As has been shown throughout history, cultivating and marketing energy has been key to economic growth and societal progress.

The same study indicates that countries like Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, and Germany have placed ESG requirements over financial success and the results have been disastrous.

In Germany, residents of some cities were so fearful of an energy crisis, they turned off their water and reduced electric light usage.

While the aim of a cleaner environment is a noble one, it's foolish to promote a form of energy whose benefits have not been demonstrated over fossil fuels.

Fossil fuels, after all, that have lifted countries out of poverty, provided jobs, and paved the way for modern living.

The creeping woke mentality in the industry is bad enough.

What is worse is the effort to derail the fossil fuels industry.

Last year, President Biden said coal plants are too expensive and "we’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America."

This move was met with swift reaction by coal miners and others in the fossil fuel delivery chain whose jobs would have been lost.

Constellation Energy is a vocal supporter of the Biden administration’s efforts to hobble the fossil fuels industry.

Constellation CEO Joseph Dominguez criticized investor-owned utilities for "working to block these very practical measures."

Constellation wants to have its power plants 95% carbon-free by 2030 and 100% carbon-free by 2040.

One can only wonder: Is Constellation’s support for the administration’s extreme agenda payback for the billions of dollars in subsidies it received under the Inflation Reduction Act?

The Biden administration shouldn't attempt to pick winners and losers in the marketplace.

If nuclear companies want to promote themselves as cleaner sources of energy, they can compete in the market.

Downgrading the fossil fuel industry may score them political points, but it does not make their product more appealing.

Consumers need reliable energy, jobs, reliable investments and a comfortable standard of living. The effort to hoist ESG investments to a position of a deity is hurting the American consumer and disrupting commerce.

In short, Big Nuclear is becoming the Bud Light of energy.

When the American consumer realizes what is happening, they will reject the left’s feel-good platitudes and rely on the energy that actually works.
