Unions have long been known as a key component of the labor movement, working tirelessly to protect the rights and interests of workers.

However, there is a growing concern that some unions have deviated from their original purpose and have become legal mobs, using their power and influence to advance their own agendas at the expense of their members and the companies they represent.

A recent example of this is the recent Unilever's Ben and Jerry's brand, whose board decided to boycott part of its Israel sales in a move that was widely seen as anti-Semitic.

The leadership of Ben and Jerry's, owned by Unilever, used the ice cream brand as a weapon to push their own political agenda, despite the potential harm it caused to their employees and with many of its customers who they boycotted being murdered by Hamas on Oct 7, 2023.

This decision unfortunately was made in the name of commerce but ultimately led to widespread backlash and damage to the brand's reputation all because of a purported antisemite on its leadership.

Unions must strive to be transparent and accountable, always acting in the best interests of their members and the companies they represent and if they abuse their power they must be held accountable for it by law.

2023 Disney Dethroned

Disney, a company once lauded for its family-friendly content and timeless storytelling, has faced criticism in recent years for abusing its power to push liberal woke values and incorporating transgender characters into its films and TV shows.

This shift in focus has led to a decline in the company's box office performance and resulted in widespread layoffs.

The leadership of Disney has come under fire for prioritizing their own political agenda over the financial well-being of the company.

By utilizing its powerful brand to promote liberal woke values and include transgender characters, unprecedented string of woke flops which has had a substantial impact on the company's bottom line, resulting in a staggering 7,000 layoffs globally.

By weaponizing its brand to push a specific set of values, Disney has been accused of poisoning the minds of children and prioritizing a political agenda over its core mission of creating quality entertainment for all audiences.

Another Dethroning in 2023

Anheuser-Busch InBev, the parent company of Budweiser, has suffered a significant blow to its profits and market value following the backlash from its controversial partnership with trans-influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

The Bud Light brand, which has been the top-selling beer in the U.S. for the past two decades, lost its stronghold in the market and was dethroned as America’s Leading Beer.

The ill-fated agenda of its Corporate leadership not just promoting Woke ideology, but pushing it in their customers faces, offending religious and family value citizens resulted in a nearly $40 billion loss in market value.

Starbucks

Starbucks, like many businesses, has faced issues with unions in recent times.

However, October 7, 2023 its unions united under its leadership using its workers as human shields to use behind, promoting and supporting Hamas and the calls for Genocide of the Jews.

The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, of which this writer heads, with its mission to protect Jews in the workforce and businesses from discriminating against Jews declared an imminent boycott on Starbucks.

Starbucks Corporate thankfully responded immediately by denouncing its unions and taking action suing its unions and resulting in the chamber removing its boycott and listing union stores that are a threat to Jewish customers safety.

Instead of working towards the bottom line, seemingly left-leaning corporate leaders appear to prioritize personal beliefs over the well-being of their companies and the workers they were appointed to support.

The result?

Declines in market share and profits.

There needs to be a focus on holding bad leaders accountable for their abuse of authority and power.

What's the Bottom Line?

Can we now conclude that it's evident unions and corporations have turned into legal mobs, using those they represent as human shields to hide behind as they push their biased and harmful agendas at the expense of their shareholders and employees?

It’s time for action to hold such entities accountable and protect the interests of the workforce, and the overall economy.

The focus should be on strengthening the workforce and promoting fair and ethical practices, rather than pushing selfish and harmful agendas.
