Climate change advocates don’t like to be criticized, and it’s the same with Al Gore on warming issues. He can come up with some real whoppers when critics anger him.
Here are eight times when the former vice president attack opponents of his views:
1. Although the media in general seem to provide plenty of room for climate change activism,
Gore attacked the U.S. media for being “intimidated” by global warming deniers. It seems that online deniers and letters of protest make news outlets very timid when it comes to reporting on climate change.

2. Not to be outdone by other global warming alarmists, Gore told CBS’s “60 Minutes” in 2008 that skeptics were “almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the earth is flat.”
3. In a 2013 Charlie Rose interview, Gore took on Fox News and conservative radio show hosts that provide information for the other side. He said they have produced “a very hostile environment for progressive ideas,” which apparently include Al Gore's global warming ideas.
4. Gore compared Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s comments about brushfires with the tobacco industry denying smoking was harmful. Abbott had responded to a rash of brushfires in New South Wales, saying the fires had nothing to do with climate change. Gore fumed that tobacco companies had misled the public for 40 years about the dangers of smoking and then explained that when temperatures rise and vegetation dries up, wildfires occur.
5. Gore claimed that in the future, climate change skeptics would be looked at like the racists in the South where he grew up. During an Internet interview, Gore said the two issues were of the same “moral component.” Young people convinced older people that racism was wrong in the past, and there would come a time when people realize global warming denial is wrong.

6. Moving on from the comparison with racism, Gore also compared global warming skepticism with homophobia. In a Q&A with Ezra Klein for
The Washington Post, he related how he read an article about a homophobe who made fun of two gay people holding hands while in line for a pizza. The other people around him told him to shut up. It’s the same with global warming deniers, he said in the interview. Climate change activists need to “win the conversation.”
7. Slander and lies became Al Gore global warming accusations when attacking Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who had the audacity to question and criticize climate change alarmists. Gore claimed this was an attack on the scientific community
“to slander them with the lie that they are making up the science in order to make money.”
8. During a speech at the University of Hawaii, Gore made it clear about his intolerance toward people who disagree with him. People who say that climate change is not caused by humans are “immoral, unethical, and despicable.”
