Friday, 17 September 2010 04:06 PM EDT

1. Aldara:
Aldara cream (5%), is considered the best among drugs for the treatment of genital warts. This drug is categorized as a topical “immune response modifier.”A safe alternative to the invasive treatment for genital warts, Aldara cream treats millions of American patients every year. It is an expensive drug available by prescription.

Podophyllotoxin
Podophyllotoxin, an invaluable drug for the  treatment of genital warts, is a brown colored gel or ointment marketed under the brand names Condylox (0.5%), Wartec (0.15%), or Warticon (0.15%). Podophyllotoxin causes a slight burning sensation as it dries itself off. The ointment has to be washed off within five to six hours.Though slightly less expensive when compared to Aldara, this genital warts drug is quite an effective treatment.

TrichloroAceticAcid (TCA)
Though not as effective as Aldara, and Podophyllotoxin, TrichloroAceticAcid (TCA) is the most popular genital warts drug. This genital warts drug destroys warts’ proteins, but it carries the risk of destroying the proteins of normal tissues as well. TCA is not recommended for the treatment of genital warts of the vagina, cervix, or anus because of the sensation of irritation it causes.

Sinecatechins
Sinecatechins is a wonderful drug for the treatment of genital warts. It is applied topically to the affected region.  This genital warts drug is a compound found naturally in green tea leaves and is used primarily to treat genital warts around the anus, and on the genitals. This genital warts treatment does not cure the warts, but it helps clear the infection faster. New warts may appear during this treatment for genital warts.

Thuja
A surprisingly effective genital warts drug is Thuja. It is a genus of coniferous trees, commonly known as “arborvitae." With consistent and proper use, thuja has proven to be a very effective genital warts drug. Extracts of Thuja Occidentalis are ingredients in one of the most effective genital warts drugs called Dermisil. Patience is required with this genital warts drug treatment, as the treatment should not be stopped until the warts disappear completely, which may take some time. This genital warts drug is used three times a day and is a completely natural drug treatment for genital warts.
