Global Warming Deniers, Believers Battle Via Video Clips

By    |   Monday, 17 November 2014 03:25 PM EST

The battle between global warming believers and deniers has been ongoing, sometimes strident and often found in videos online.

Here are nine global warming deniers and believers who can be found making their cases on YouTube:

ALERT: Is Global Warming a Hoax? Vote Now

• David Roberts, of Grist, used his 18-minute TEDx talk to simplify climate change, responding to people who say they aren’t comfortable arguing about climate change because it’s complicated. According to its website, “Grist is a source of intelligent, irreverent environmental news and commentary that’s been around since 1999, when the internet was made of rubber bands. We cover climate, energy, food, cities, politics, business, green living, and the occasional adorable baby animal.”

• Sen. James Inhofe, who says global warming is "the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people," will take the chairman position in the Environmental and Public Works Committee in January. Environmentalists and climate change believers are concerned that he will change policies that have been put in place to fight global warming.

• Comedian John Oliver, in blunt language, takes on climate change deniers in a video that has more than 4.7 million views. One of his primary points is the way the issue is portrayed in the media with one-on-one debates, when the reality would be more like three climate change deniers vs. 96 climate change believers.

• The title of this animated video says it all: "Global Warming Hoax Explained for Dummies."

VOTE NOW: Are You Concerned About Global Warming?

• Dr. David M.W. Evans, in this video, explains in detail why global warming is not the issue that climate change models indicate it could be.

•Bill Nye the Science Guy is one of the most well-known climate change believers, and he has numerous videos on YouTube that state his viewpoint. In this video, he debated an economist on CNN.

In this video, Nye debates Marc Morano, the publisher of ClimateDepot.com who bills himself as a “climate realist.”

• Morano also has numerous videos online about climate change, including this presentation at CFACT’s International Climate and Energy Summit, titled “The Climate Change Con.”

• This two-part BBC series featuring Sir David Attenborough explores the link of man’s actions to climate change and global warming.

• The YouTube video “The Bad Science and Bad Policy of Obama’s Global Warming Agenda” was made, according to the information accompanying the video, by Roy W. Spencer, former NASA climatologist and climate expert.
