Gonorrhea: How Your Diet Plays a Role

Tuesday, 01 February 2011 03:28 PM EST

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by Neisseria Gonorrhea, a bacterium that can grow and multiply easily in warm and moist areas of the reproductive tract in women and men. The bacterium can also grow in the mouth, throat, eyes, and anus. Gonorrhea is spread through contact with the penis, vagina, mouth, or anus, and it can also spread from mother to baby during delivery.

A plain and bland diet is helpful in resolving gonorrhea. Eliminating spicy foods helps in the prevention of irritation and inflammation. Another natural way to deal with gonorrhea is to reduce the amount of saturated fat in one’s diet as much as possible. Avoid deep-fried foods, baked foods, dairy products with higher fat, fatty meat sources, or any additional saturated fat such as butter or cheese.

Another natural remedy or cure for gonorrhea that many people find surprisingly beneficial is nutritious starch, which is the water that is left over after cooking rice.

Another trick to help resolve gonorrhea using diet is to include plenty of low-fat grain products and nutritious foods in the diet that contain a higher quantity of water. Examples of such nutritious foods include barley, oats, apples, berries, watermelon, and grapes. Each of these will help boost the fluid level in the body and manage the symptoms of gonorrhea.

Vegetables are nutritious and contain plenty of water as well, so they are something else that will aid in the treatment of gonorrhea.
