In Arkansas, it is estimated that more than 65 percent of households own one or more guns. With such a high number of guns, it's not surprising the state boasts a large number of run and pistol ranges for residents to practice.

Here are six shooting ranges in the state of Arkansas:

1. Arkansas Armory: This Sherwood, Arkansas, shooting range has 4.8 stars on Google reviews. "This range has the friendliest and most professional staff of any range I have been to. They cater to all levels of shooters from people who have never fired a weapon to people who have been shooting for many years," one person wrote. This gun store and range in North Little Rock is open to the public.

3. Independence County Shooting Sports: The Paul H. "Rocky" Willmuth Shooting Sports Complex was expanded in 2013-2014 to include a new education center, a fifth trap field and other amenities. Located in Batesville, Arkansas, the county shooting range is operated by the county and city government.

4. Don's Weaponry Inc.: This North Little Rock shooting range features seven shooting lanes. For a fun and unusual experience, you can go to this range for the "Black Light Zombie Massacre."

5. The Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex: This state-of-the-art public shooting range was built in Jacksonville in 2014 for about $3 million. "The multi-use complex is the largest of its kind in the state. It includes 14 trap fields, three skeet overlays, three lit fields, two pavilions, a fishing lake, and a 5,100 square foot clubhouse that includes a learning center."

6. On Target Inc.: In Hot Springs National Park, this range is the largest indoor range in central Arkansas, according to its website. The climate-controlled facility has indoor lanes with seven-position firing options.
