Gun enthusiasts in and around Houston have a large choice of gun shows all year long, with some regular outfits hosting multiple shows in a year.

The Gun Show Trader listed nearly 90 gun shows scheduled in the Lone Star State in the just the last three months of 2014.

Houston Gun Collectors Association, which has been promoting gun collection and goodwill among like-minded members since 1950, hosts one of the largest gun shows in the country. The Saturday and Sunday event costs $10 for adults over 18, $5 for children 12 to 17, and is free for children under 12. It is held three times yearly at the NRG Center (formerly known as the Reliant Center). Dates for future shows can be seen at the group’s website. Dates in 2015 are scheduled for Jan. 17-18, June 13-14, and Sept. 19-20.
The High Caliber Gun and Knife Show invites the public to bring their own guns to sell or trade and enjoy the opportunity to browse and buy. The shows are held on a regular basis at the Houston George R. Brown Convention Center and in nearby Pasadena and Conroe. Entrance for these two day shows is $8 for adults and free for children under 12. Law Enforcement officers in uniform are admitted free. Dates are available at

The High Caliber Gun and Knife Show is a part of hundreds of shows produced by the Bean family who run the Southern Classic Gun & Knife Shows and Great Southern Gun & Knife shows in other states. Currently scheduled dates in Houston proper through the end of 2014 are Oct. 4-5, Nov. 8-9, Dec. 6-7, and Dec. 27-28.
Premier Gun Shows hosts three shows in the Houston area at the Woodlands Legends Sports Complex (Oct. 11-12), in the Pasadena Convention Center (Nov. 1-2) and the George R. Brown Convention Center in late November (22-23). The show at the GRB Convention Center boasts more than 700 tables of guns, ammo, knives, and shooting supplies. General admission for all shows is $8 for adults. Children under 12 are free as well as police officers in uniform. A weekend pass and printable coupon also offer discounts.
