The following regions are ideal spots for hunting large and small game in Hawaii.
  1. Palawai Basin - Located on Lanai, the sixth-largest island in Hawaii, the Palawai Basin encompasses just under 6,000 acres and is known for its past as a pineapple plantation. On his website, outdoors expert Gary Lewis said it’s also an ideal place to hunt axis deer. He cited fellow hunting expert Pat Fisher, who recommended a two-day hunt in the basin and added that some of the most impressive trophy bucks are found here. Hunters traverse the area on foot until they find a herd. Fisher said his groups have had a 98 percent success rate hunting deer in the basin.

The island is a prime spot for turkey, goat, sheep, bull, and boar.
  4. Maui - As in much of Hawaii, there are only a few species of game animal to hunt on Maui.
