Here's a look at what animals you can hunt in Ohio year-round:
1. Coyote
Coyote hunting remains one of the less regulated options in Ohio. The season is open the entire year and there are no bag limits.
For coyote hunting, the longbow, crossbow, handgun, rifle, and shotgun are permitted. However,
according to ohiodnr.gov, “Poisoned or explosive arrows are unlawful. It is also unlawful to have attached to a crossbow any mechanical, electrical or electronic device capable of projecting a beam of light.”
2. Feral Pigs
According to wideopenspaces.com, “Many landowners offering private deer hunts – farmers especially – will throw in a bag limit for feral pigs as well, just in an effort to reduce burgeoning populations.”

3. Deer
Deer hunting has typically been restricted in Ohio to either the fall or winter months. However, one area of northeastern Ohio, Avon Lake, has recently opened up deer hunting 365 days per year.
Yet, before deer enthusiasts get too excited, there are some restrictions.
According to wideopenspaces.com, “It is not just a free for all. Several different requirements must be met in order to legally hunt under the legislation. These include applying for a municipal deer control permit and holding a valid Ohio hunting license.”
