Evangelical Christian Jerry Falwell experienced his spiritual rebirth when he was a teenager. From that moment forward, he made it his mission to preach the Scriptures, and speak out against what he thought of as evils destroying the country.
Although Falwell spent his career fighting these "evils," he did believe in the power of love. Here are some of Falwell's most memorable quotes about love:

1."Love is commitment; love is a relationship that never gives up."
2. Falwell was often found being critical of homosexuals. But, in 1999, he started to change his tune. Falwell met with his former ghostwriter-turned-gay activist to smooth over their relationship. At the time, Falwell offered an apology "for not always loving homosexuals,'' Falwell added, "I know that's not good enough for some of you, but it's more than some of you expected. I hope you'll find me showing more love for homosexuals than I have in the past.''
3. Falwell founded Liberty University and played an active role in its administration, serving as president. During his tenure, Falwell spoke of love in terms of the school's community service requirement. "Through the Christian/Community Service program here at Liberty; to love your neighbor by serving your neighbor. It's so important for these students to learn to give back and serve others like Jesus did. Jesus was a servant leader, and what we try to teach through this program is servant leadership."
4. Falwell preached in a 1991 sermon, "God is too loving to be unkind."

5. "Jesus set the example for love, as did Moses,'' Falwell said during a "60 Minutes" interview, noting he thought Muhammad was a terrorist.
6. Falwell believed in the importance of family. "God created the family to provide the maximum love and support and morality and example that one can imagine."
7. "When you have a godly husband, a godly wife, children who respect their parents and who are loved by their parents, who provide for those children their physical and spiritual and material needs, lovingly, you have the ideal unit."
