Lindsay Lohan Tweets About Economy?

Hollywood hellion Lindsay Lohan’s Twitter message on the economy seemed a little too thoughtful — and it turns out that it was.

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell revealed on his show “The Last Word” that a front group paid Lohan for access to her more than 2 million followers on the microblogging website.

The tweet in question reads more like something from Glenn Beck than from the jewelry-stealing Lohan: “Have you guys seen food and gas prices lately? U.S. $ will soon be worthless if the Fed keeps printing money!”

O’Donnell pointed out that only one of the 245 people Lohan follows on Twitter is in politics — and that person is President Barack Obama. “And so her tweeting about the Fed . . . does seem to be a little surprising.”

As O’Donnell explained it, a group called the National Inflation Association that “pumps up tiny unknown stocks that deal with gold and silver” paid Lohan to post the Twitter message. It wasn’t her standard sponsored tweet. She often shills for handbag and muffin companies.

Lohan responded to a fan’s criticism of the practice with this tweet: “I actually do care about gas and food prices, so whether it’s an [advertisement] or [not], it’s important for people to be aware of it.”

Fox News, apparently unaware that Lohan’s anti-Fed tweet was not her own, rallied behind the troubled starlet. Neil Cavuto opened his show “Your World” with: “This just in: Lindsay Lohan has had it, and we are so on top of it.”

Judge Andrew Napolitano responded: “I love her!”
