Eight of the 10 modern comedies box office highest-grossing films are animated features, the most recent of these to climb the charts being Disney’s “Frozen.” But the actor to enjoy the leading voice role in two of these top-grossing comedies is Mike Myers, whose “Shrek” franchise netted two spots. Here are the top 10 comedies that have made the most money at the box office since 1990:
“Shrek 2”
The first “Shrek” paved the way for “Shrek 2” to shoot to the top of this list. Released in 2004, Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers, and Cameron Diaz team up to bring viewers the newlywed ogres Shrek and Fiona as they deal with Fiona’s parents. “Shrek 2” also was the

“Toy Story 3”

“Frozen” is the most recent animated comedy darling to hit the big screen and makes this list in a large part thanks to the movie’s hit song, “Let It Go” by Idina Menzel.
