The shooting sports have become so popular in the last decade that new competitions are being developed constantly. One of the most popular today is what's known as the three gun competition.
It is the fastest growing shooting sport in the United States today. As the name implies, competitors use three guns to compete: the modern sporting rifle, also known as the AR15, a handgun and a shotgun.

Aside from the various firearms, there is a bit more gear that you will need to shoot a three gun competitive match.
A competition belt is a sturdy, often two-part belt that can withstand the weight of several magazine holsters, as well as a pistol holster. Some come with a secondary Velcro attachment, so that you can easily remove the accessories, yet leave the actual belt on when not actively shooting.
For the rifle portion of the event, you will need at least two magazines as well as magazine holsters for your belt. Many competitive events also require the use of chamber flags between shooting. This is for added safety and so that anyone can see that your firearms are unloaded at a glance.

For the handgun portion of a three gun competition, you will need a holster, a minimum of two magazines and at least a two-magazine holster. Some competitors will also elect to carry a speed loader for handguns, as well. This makes loading between events easier and faster.
For the shotgun portion, you will need shotgun caddies. This is similar to a magazine, but is larger and carries shotgun shells instead of rifle and pistol cartridges.
Lastly, you will need a range bag. This will most definitely come in handy when carrying around all of the various rounds and volume of ammunition that you will be using, as well as your eye and ear protection.
