1. Appalachian Trail: This wild and extensive 2,185 mile trail cuts through West Virginia and is a perfect adventure for those who love outdoor travel. Go hiking and enjoy the breathtaking views.

Allegheny Highlands: This rails to trails project has turned the route of the West Virginia Central and Pittsburg Railway into a hiking, biking and horseback riding adventure everyone in the family can enjoy.

3. Gauley River National Recreation Area: Adventure travel lovers will have the chance to ride the rapids down this 25 mile river. Activities include whitewater rafting, fishing and camping.

4. Lost World Caverns: This cave is a historic natural landmark. The self-guided tour takes nature lovers into an underground world including one of the largest stalactites in the country.
