Folic acid is among the vitamin supplements prescribed for pregnancy and is an important pregnancy supplement. The recommended daily allowance (RDA) of this important supplement for pregnancy is 400 micrograms.

Iron is also another important supplement for the pregnant woman. One should not exceed 30 mg a day. Iron can be found in eggs, poultry, leafy vegetables, oranges, calcium, soy, etc.

Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are important pregnancy supplements that are recommended for the proper growth and development of the fetus.

Probiotics are also an important supplement for pregnancy. They help reduce the risk of disorders like eczema in the fetus. Important pregnancy supplements include lctobacillus and bifidobacterium. Both of these are essential for the mother as well as the fetus.
