US Regulators Urge Banks to Aid Wildfire Victims

U.S. banking regulators said in a statement they would support "prudent efforts" by banks to alter loan terms for borrowers affected by California wildfires, and would offer regulatory assistance to affected institutions.

In a joint statement on Tuesday, federal banking regulators and the California Department of Financial Protection urged banks to consider adjusting loan terms for impacted borrowers, and also said they would work with banks in meeting regulatory requirements amid the crisis.
