Electric automaker Tesla has told production workers in the United States that they will get a pay hike, according to a Bloomberg News report Thursday.
The move comes as other carmakers whose workers are not unionized have been raising pay after the United Auto Workers (UAW) union reached new labor deals with the Detroit Three — Ford, Stellantis and General Motors.
The UAW deals included a 25% increase in base wages through 2028, a cut in the time needed to reach top pay to three years from eight years, a 150% boost to the pay of temporary workers.
Tesla did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
