"My name's Friday, I carry a badge” is a phrase we all knew from the late 60’s TV police drama "Dragnet."
And what about another classic TV police drama, "Adam-12"
The refrain over a patrol car police radio, "One Adam 12, One Adam 12, a 211 in progress," or, "One Adam 12 handle a code 3."
How did we go from these phrases representing our nation's police forces to people yelling in the streets "Defund the police!" or "Abolish the police!"?
Go to Los Angeles, California and you'll see "To Protect and to Serve" on that department's patrol cars. Around the country, you'll also see other phrases which serve as mottos for peace officers who risk everything to protect our streets while maintaining law and order in our country.
Every organization has its bad apples but that doesn’t mean we need to dismantle the whole bunch. "Defund the Police!"?
Are such people insane?!
Hey. Here's an idea, why not give each and every one of these brave men and women a raise and invest in the people that help keep our streets safe for the law-abiding citizens?
