WikiLeaks is set to release at least 40,000 more hacked emails over the next three weeks in a bid to embarrass Hillary Clinton and damage her bid for the White House.

And the almost-daily document dump is being orchestrated because of a grudge WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has against the Democratic presidential nominee, The Hill reports.

"He's not officially elected, but he's involved in the highest level of political debate. He can have an influence on the U.S. election. It doesn't really get much bigger than this," former WikiLeaks spokesman Daniel Domscheit-Berg told The Hill.

The stolen emails come from the files of the Democratic National Committee and Clinton campaign chair John Podesta.

And while Assange doesn't officially back Donald Trump, the real estate tycoon's unofficial adviser Roger Stone told CBS Miami Wednesday he has "a back channel communication with the website boss."
