Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders came to the defense of his chief rival, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, during Tuesday's Democratic presidential debate, saying he's heard enough about her emails.
"The American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails," Sanders said to thunderous applause from the Democratic audience.
"Thank you. Me too," Clinton said.
Sanders then went off on the media, saying it should focus on the collapsing middle class rather than emails.
"Enough of the e-mails. Let's talk about the real issues facing America," he said, and Clinton shook his hand.
Moderator Anderson Cooper said that while people at the Democratic debate likely aren't concerned about Clinton's use of a private email server while she was secretary of state, many in the general election will care.
Former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee agreed that Clinton will have a credibility problem because of the email issue.
"Out there with the world, I think we need somebody with the best and ethical standards as our next president," Chafee said.
"Secretary Clinton, do you want to respond?" Cooper asked.
"No," Clinton said and smiled.
