Democrats don't win national elections because they have a better economic plan, but because their isn't much difference in the parties, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said at Tuesday's undercard presidential debate.
"The reason we keep losing right now is we keep trying to be cheaper versions of the Democratic Party," Jindal said, suggesting Republicans should embrace their own principals.
"If you want bigger paychecks, you want more jobs, you want less government dependence, you're going to have to cut government spending," he said.
Jindal said he's the only candidate running who actually has cut anything. He pointed to senators as particular offenders.
They give long filibustering speeches, then pat themselves on the back and nothing changes, he said.
"When they go to relieve themselves, their cause and the toilets get flushed at the same time, and the American people lose," Jindal said.
