WashPost: 'Multiple' HHS Agencies Received Banned Words List

By    |   Saturday, 16 December 2017 10:35 PM EST

The Trump administration's list of seven banned words from future budget reports was also expanded to "multiple" other agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services, The Washington Post reported.

Officials from two HHS agencies, who asked that their names nor agencies be disclosed, told the Post that they had received a list.

The seven words on the list were "transgender," "fetus," "vulnerable," "entitlement," "diversity," "evidence-based," and "science-based."

Staffers at the Centers for Disease Control learned of the list during a meeting Thursday with top budget officials, according to the Post.

But neither the CDC, nor the Office of Budget and Management, which oversees the content in budget reports, disclosed why the words were outlawed.

HHS, however, pushed back later Saturday, calling the Post's report "a complete mischaracterization of discussions regarding the budget-formulation process."
