Chuck Grassley Introduces Trump at Rally

Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley introduced Donald Trump with fervor at a rally Saturday in the Hawkeye State, but stopped short of endorsing the Republican presidential front-runner.

"We have an opportunity once again to make America great again," Grassley said in Pella, Iowa, Politico reports, repeating Trump's campaign slogan.

"I'm excited to be invited to be here," the state's senior senator said. "I'm excited as I see so many large crowds at various events around Iowa.

"I'm excited to see the big crowds because of the big energy that comes with it — and we've got to keep up this energy that's shown here today and many other places around Iowa because that is what is going to take for us to win back the White House in November."

Grassley, who is chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, attacked President Barack Obama — and he slammed Democrats Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders for their calls for more gun control and regulation, Politico reports.

"We need a new commander and chief and that obviously is not Hillary," he said. "There's so much at stake for us in America. We've had eight years of unconstitutional actions to fix.

"We've got a president who is out of control and government can soon be out of control."

Grassley, who has attacked Trump rival Ted Cruz, is scheduled to appear at a rally in the state next Saturday for another challenger, Marco Rubio, according to Politico.
