Clinton Allies Blast Trump Over Charity Dinner Jokes

Hillary Clinton's allies slammed Donald Trump after he rebuked her with jokes at a Roman Catholic charity event in New York.

"Here she is, pretending not to hate Catholics," Trump said, along with other comments in a speech that earned boos from the crowd, according to Politico.

The Republican candidate began his speech at the annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner with self-deprecating jokes and friendly jabs that drew laughs from Clinton. However, the crowd turned on Trump when he said, "Hillary is so corrupt, she got kicked off the Watergate Commission."

Clinton returned fire in her speech, saying, "Donald Trump looks at the Statue of Liberty… and sees a four. Maybe a five if she loses the torch and tablet, changes her hair," according to the Twitter account of her digital director Jenna Lowenstein.
