Fox News chief Roger Ailes has all but lost control of his cable network — with media mogul Rupert Murdoch and his family now calling the shots and shamelessly having Fox’s on-air talent push Sen. Marco Rubio’s presidential campaign, veteran political analyst Dick Morris tells
Newsmax TV.
"Roger Ailes was the main consultant to [President George H.W. Bush] and Fox has always had a bias in favor of [the] Bush [family]. Constantly," Morris said Wednesday on "Newsmax Prime" with J.D. Hayworth.
"Murdoch has always tended to use his publications or his companies to promote his agenda, but until now he's not done that with Fox News. I was on Fox News from 1997-2013. In that whole time, nobody ever asked me to push anything, oppose anything….
"Now all of a sudden every one of the Fox anchors is doing Rubio, Rubio, Rubio. You kind of scratch your head and you say 'what is going on here?'"

On Wednesday, an annoyed Ted Cruz, who came in third in New Hampshire's primary Tuesday, asked if he’ll get the same Fox News coverage Rubio got out of his third-place finish in Iowa.
"I'm looking forward to wall-to-wall coverage from Fox News with the news that Rubio got. I'm sure that's what we'll see on every show on Fox today, the shockingly third-place finish of Iowa,"
the Texas senator told reporters in Myrtle Beach, S.C., according to CNN's "At This Hour With Berman and Bolduan."
Morris, a Newsmax contributor who served as an advisor to President Bill Clinton, told Hayworth that Fox had been silent during last year’s Rubio credit card scandal.
"Rubio "lived off the [Florida] state Republican credit card basically for two to three years" when he led the campaign operation of the Sunshine State’s House Republicans, Morris said. "[Rubio] didn't attribute a lot of the stuff he spent on that card that was business, that was personal."
Only when the story broke elsewhere did Fox jump on board, according to Morris, who said a federal investigation exonerated Rubio.
"[Murdoch] can do whatever he wants with [Fox News], but when [the anchors] promote themselves as fair and balanced, where in fact all they're doing is echoing what their bosses are telling them to say, that's pretty outrageous," he told Hayworth.
"As I said, when I was there at Fox they didn't do that. The big difference is that Roger Ailes has lost direct control of the station to Murdoch's family that got put in there and now Murdoch is trying to play that game. Like he always did with the New York Post."
