Donald Trump clarified his stance on Planned Parenthood Tuesday, saying he would not necessarily be opposed to the federal government providing funding to the organization.

During an interview with CNN, the real estate mogul and Republican presidential candidate said he would consider the other services Planned Parenthood provides before making a decision on severing the government's funding.

"I would look at the good aspects of it and I would also look because I'm sure they do some things properly and good, good for women, and I would look at that," Trump said.

Trump sang a different tune last week during an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, saying he would support shutting down the government in order to defund Planned Parenthood.

"I can tell you this: I would," Trump said.

The Trump campaign would not clarify to CNN whether his stance on Planned Parenthood has officially changed.

Trump did, however, tell CNN he believes Planned Parenthood abortions should not be funded by the government. That's the case now, with roughly $500 million from the government going to the organization's other services.

"I would look at the individual things that they do and maybe some of the things are good," Trump said. "We have to take care of women. We have to absolutely take care of women. The abortion aspect of Planned Parenthood should not — absolutely should not — be funded."

Trump used to be pro-choice before changing his stance after seeing a friend have a baby that became "the apple of his eye."

Planned Parenthood, which performs abortions and offers other services to women, has come under fire in recent weeks after undercover videos surfaced that show officials at the organization discussing the sale of aborted fetuses and body parts.

Trump, meanwhile, is the leading Republican candidate in the field of 17 vying for the GOP nomination in next year's presidential election.
