In another misfire by the Donald Trump campaign, supporters received a fundraising email Thursday night with Trump saying he had just delivered his acceptance speech – except he hadn't.
The email from a "gopteam" address was time stamped 9:18 p.m. Eastern, though Trump wasn't set to speak until about 10:10. Several convention speakers who have worked for Trump's business have noted he finishes his jobs "ahead of schedule."
With the subject line "Honored and humbled," the email began:
"Tonight was amazing.
"I just delivered my speech at the Republican National Convention, where I officially accepted our Party’s nomination for President of the United States."
The email then lists off Trump's main points from his speech and ends with a button asking for a contribution of $35.
Earlier, what was purported to be a full draft of Trump's speech
was leaked to the pro-Clinton super PAC Correct the Record.
