High-flying GOP presidential contender Donald Trump is burying his rivals – when it comes to Google search hits.
According to
Google Trends' interactive county-by-county map of searches for the Republican candidates, posted Tuesday, the real estate billionaire drew the most interest in almost every state in the nation, replete with a color-coded map bleeding red – Trump's assigned color code.
The one exception to the Trump obsession was Wisconsin, where Gov. Scott Walker was leading in many of his state's counties. No other Republican candidate holds his or her home state against Trump as clearly, the map shows.
And though Google presented the results in light of the upcoming GOP presidential candidate debate Thursday, Trump also was the most-searched presidential candidate the last week of July, beating out Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders,
Google Trends data show.
Google Trends notes Trump was also the third-most Googled candidate in the six months leading up to the July 4 weekend, coming in behind Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton and GOP rival Jeb Bush.
Google Trends also posted the map of the second-most searched candidates in each county. But unlike the previous map, this one showed a wide palette of colors representing the huge field of GOP White House hopefuls.
