Roger Ailes had done "an amazing job" at the Fox News Channel before he resigned last month amid allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination, Donald Trump told Newsmax TV in an exclusive interview.
"He's a man who has done an amazing job building Fox, an amazing job — but I think he's been given credit for that," Trump told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth.

He said that Ailes, 76, who founded Fox News in 1996, was not advising his White House campaign. The former CEO remains a consultant to the network through 2018.
Trump told Hayworth that he could not comment on the lawsuit brought by former anchor Gretchen Carlson because "I just don't know anything about it."
"I speak to Roger on occasion now," he said. "The job he's done at Fox is probably unprecedented in television history.
"That's the only thing I know."
