A January tweet from Donald Trump after the
Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris inexplicably made its way onto the GOP presidential contender's Twitter feed Friday – triggering a Twitter storm in response to its seeming insensitivity.
The confusion was exacerbated when the French ambassador to the United States, Gerard Araud, angrily responded: "This message is repugnant in its lack of any human decency. Vulture."
The tweets – both from Trump and Araud – were deleted, and a new, sympathetic tweet was posted on the Trump feed Friday evening.
But it did little to calm the storm of controversy, leaving
one poster "Wondering which of Trump's celebrated staffers advised him to send incredibly insensitive #ParisShooting gun control tweet?"
