Proclaiming, "It's beautiful when you win," Donald Trump and his supporters reveled in his victory in Saturday's South Carolina primary.
Addressing a cheering throng in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Trump admitted running for president is tough as he congratulated Sens. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz for their good second and third place finishes.
"There's nothing easy about running for president," he said. "It's tough. It's nasty. It's mean. It's vicious. It's beautiful. When you win, it's beautiful."
Trump had his wife, Melania, and daughter, Ivanka, address the crowd as well, as he launched into his stump speech saying he will return America to winning by defeating the Islamic State (ISIS), bringing back jobs from Mexico and China and building a wall on the southern border, which he said now will be "10 feet taller."
In a possible swipe at Rubio, who has been criticized for saying there should be better relations between police and minorities, Trump said, "Our police are terrific. We love our police. They are not being treated properly."
He also knocked
media pundits who predict he won't get any of the votes from candidates such as Jeb Bush, who announced he was quitting the race after a disappointing low finish in South Carolina.
"No matter where we go, we fill up the arenas," he said, "The only thing that stops the crowds are the walls. Because we can't get them in. We have to send thousands of people away."
Citing a recent Time magazine article, Trump said he is leading a movement. "It's an incredible movement with incredible people."
Trump said he will continue his wins in Nevada next Saturday and in the SEC Primary on March 1.
"I love you all," an elated Trump said amid chants of "USA! USA!" "We will never forget you. We will never, ever forget South Carolina."
