Donald Trump adviser Rudy Giuliani angrily defended his own marital history in a testy exchange with NBC News' "Meet The Press" host Chuck Todd on Sunday, saying it was "irrelevant" to Hillary Clinton's defense of her husband's infidelities.
During the interview, the former mayor of New York City was pressed about Hillary Clinton's defense of her husband, former President Bill Clinton, against charges of infidelity from women including Gennifer Flowers and former White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
When Giuliani noted Bill Clinton came to a monetary settlement — it was with Paula Jones, a former Arkansas state worker who sued Clinton for sexual harassment, in which Bill Clinton acknowledged no wrongdoing — Todd interrupted and asked of Hillary Clinton, "She was wrong to stand by her husband?"
"No, to attack the person," Giuliani responded.
But Todd pressed: "You are able to give this charge?" adding: "You have your own infidelities."
"I confess it to my priest," Giuliani replied. "I've never attacked someone who has been the victim of sexual abuse. Not only that, I've put in jail people who have been the victims of sexual abuse and I never participated in that."
"You're bringing up my personal life, and it's irrelevant to what Hillary Clinton did. She's running for president, I'm not. A woman who pretends to be a feminist shouldn't be taking money from countries where women are stoned, where women are killed for adultery is, and women can't drive. She's taken hundreds of millions from those countries."
