Ahead of a forum on national security and military issues, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton claimed 95 generals and admirals endorsed her for president, according to The Hill.
This announcement comes a day after Donald Trump listed 88 former military men as having endorsed him for president.
The veterans, in their letter, stated they trusted Trump to "rebuild our military, to secure our borders, to defeat our Islamic supremacist adversaries and restore law and order domestically."
Both Clinton and Trump will be featured Wednesday night in NBC's Commander-in-Chief Forum, which will focus on military issues.
Gen. Lloyd Newton, a retired general who is backing Clinton, called her the best qualified candidate, in a statement.
"Growing up in South Carolina, respect for individual liberties and the right for every person to vote was taught to me at an early age, and it is of the utmost importance to me today," the retired general Newton stated. "These fundamental rights are why I served and care so deeply about our great nation.
"Given the challenges we face around the world today, and the rhetoric we are hearing from some at home, I feel I have a moral imperative to come forth and endorse Secretary Hillary Clinton for President."
"Hillary Clinton is the only candidate that has the experience, temperament, critical thinking and level-headed leadership to keep America safe and our partnerships strong," he added.
"She has my vote in November."
Clinton also released an advertisement Tuesday saying, "our veterans deserve better."
