The Trump Organization pushed back on a new report in which two women said they worked for the company as illegal immigrants, saying anyone who gained employment using false identification will be fired.
"We have tens of thousands of employees across our properties and have very strict hiring practices," a Trump Organization spokesperson told Fox News. "If any employee submitted false documentation in an attempt to circumvent the law, they will be terminated immediately."
The New York Times published a story Thursday that included the saga of two women who worked at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. Both said they were hired using falsified documents because they were illegal immigrants at the time. One of the women has since become a legal U.S. resident.
They worked in maintenance and housekeeping roles, and one of them washed the Trump family's laundry. Both said Trump was kind to them and gave them cash tips on occasion.
Now, however, the women are upset by Trump's rhetoric when it comes to illegal immigration. One of the women still works at the golf course and said she has been harassed at work for being an illegal immigrant
