Jared Kushner has reached out to a giant in the media industry about starting up a Trump TV network after the election, the Financial Times reported.
Kushner, Donald Trump's son-in-law who is married to Ivanka Trump, reached out to Aryeh Bourkoff, founder of LionTree Advisors, whose resume includes Verizon's takeover of AOL and Charter Communications' takeover of Time Warner, the Times reported.
The report called the contact informal and said no progress has been made.
Trump has denied wanting to set up a network, calling it "false rumor" in a June Vanity Fair article that reported the GOP nominee had interest in starting his own media empire.
Kushner owns the weekly New York Observer and is an instrumental — albeit non-public — voice advising Trump and his campaign.
