Jeb Bush Praises Ben Carson

By    |   Friday, 19 February 2016 07:30 PM EST

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush told Newsmax TV on Friday that rival Ben Carson is "a man of incredible stability" and that his supporters should consider him as an alternative should the retired pediatric neurosurgeon quit the race for the nomination.

"He doesn't tear people down to make himself look good," Bush, who served two terms in the Florida Statehouse in Tallahassee, told "Newsmax Now" hosts J.D. Hayworth and John Bachman. "I don't either.

"That's what we need to restore in American politics: This notion that somehow you're a strong person by tearing someone down or insulting them or playing dirty. That's not the way I do it and Ben Carson is a good role model in that regard."

Bush said that he and Carson were most similar in their pro-life views.

"My record is clear. I believe in the sanctity of life. Life is precious from beginning till end.

"I got to act on that belief, not just talk about it," Bush said.

"If Carson supporters are thinking about supporting somebody else, I hope they do support me," he told Newsmax. "I hope they also support Ben, because he's deserving of that support."
